Alicia O'Brien

Coach: Alicia O'Brien

I am one of the founding coaches of Mighty Milers Annapolis and I've been with the program since Spring of 2022. I am an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor, with a Child/Adolescent Fitness Specialization. I am also an RRCA level 1 certified running coach. I love making fitness accessible and fun for people of all ages and ability levels. In addition to coaching Mighty Milers, I teach group fitness classes throughout the week at several local gyms. 

On my own running journey, I have completed 10 marathons and 10 triathlons, including events in Hawaii, Iceland, Scotland, and France. Since becoming a mom in 2016, my running life has evolved, but I still participate in local training groups and race shorter and middle distances throughout the year.  

Outside of the fitness world, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in children and families and mother of 2 young kids. I live in Annapolis with my husband, kids, and 2 dogs.

Description

The program serves kids from second through eighth grade. We welcome all kids who want to run, whether they have never run or have years of experience. We challenge them on their own personal level to teach them everything they will need in order to be a successful runner.

The program will cover a range of skills: from the basics of drills and stretching, to the more advanced movements of speed work and strength training. We have a few simple goals: improve fitness, improve as runners, make friends, and learn that running is fun! Our program is challenging, but whether it’s on the track, on a trail, or playing a game, they will have fun!

We will get your children running this spring. Regardless if they are running a race or getting ready for a spring sport, they will enjoy a consistent running routine with a supportive group of friends and coaches!

*Starting dates may vary by store. Premiums cannot be guaranteed when registering after the start date. 

Requirements

No running experience necessary! Runners, walkers and run/walkers of all levels welcome!
