HART MILLER ISLAND RUN - WEATHER CANCELLATION

Sadly, due to high winds forecast for Saturday morning and its effect on our ability to safely transport participants to the island, we have made the decision to cancel the Hart-Miller Island Run scheduled for this Saturday, October 21st. The forecast currently calls for west winds 15 to 20kts (17- 23 mph) with gusts up to 30kts (35mph). A west wind blows straight down Back River at the HMI pier on the island, and with the boats unloading passengers on the front of the pier it will make for unsafe loading and unloading of passengers. The difficult decision to cancel this year's race was made in partnership with the many organizations who help to make the race possible, including the Maryland Park Service and Maryland Environmental Service. We are extremely grateful for their help and support, and their commitment to the safety of our runners. All organizations involved have worked very hard toward a safe and successful event, and while we are crushed that we won't get to see you cross the finish line Saturday, we do not compromise on our commitment to safety. All current participants will receive an email that includes information about next steps.

Join us for a one of a kind unique experience! The 4th Annual Hart-Miller Island Run will take place on October 21st, 2023. Registration includes a race shirt, transportation to and from the island, and a race experience like no other. The race is limited to 120 registrants and 25 guests (one guest per registrant until guest limit has been reached). This will sell out quickly! Due to the nature of the event and travel logistics, only registered participants and registered guests will be permitted to board the boats to and from the island.
