2013 5K TRAINING PROGRAM
(Training Program for the Bel Air Town Run 5K)
Always wanted to run a 5K, but never thought you could? Now you can! This 6-week program is designed for beginner- and intermediate-level runners who want to improve speed and endurance. Meet with a trainer twice a week for speed work and follow the race-prep calendar and you'll be ready to run by race day.

1st Run: Saturday, April 27th 7:30am meeting at Charm City Run - Bel Air Store
The group meets regularly:
The group will meet 2x per week for 6 weeks. Group runs will begin at Charm City Run Bel Air other various locations. There will also be track workouts, hill workouts on the Ma & Pa Trail and an introduction to running specific strength training. The first session will be a timed mile and an introduction to the 33nd Annual BATR 5K course.
Runners looking for an additional group supported training day are encouraged to attend the Saturday morning training group runs starting from the Bel Air store. This program is a great intro to those possibly interested in continuing their training and building up to a half-marathon or marathon in the Fall. Beginner: you are a first-time 5k participant or one who simply runs to complete events while enjoying a more social aspect to training.
Intermediate: you have run a 5k road race before and are interested in improving your time.
